Ghanaian hiplife musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, has advised new artistes to turn deaf ears to harsh criticisms from public.

She narrated to Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM coming up as a new artistes years ago and almost lost focus with regards to the severe critics from the public.

Mzbel stated how she gradually developed a thick skin against all insults from known and unknown popular individuals. She disclosed that she trained her inner self to see most hate comments as normal and at times refused to read or listen to such comments from people.

Advising promising artistes, Mzbel said, Showbiz goes with insults so young artistes should not take those insults at heart.

“Young artistes should finish their education before they enter into the showbiz since it is about business, the up-and-coming artistes shouldn’t take negatives stuffs people say about them to heart because it can destroy their career.”

She also advised that they shouldn’t depend on only music to survive but invest in other lucrative businesses to support them.

” l have a studio that rents equipment, camera, live band equipment, people come to rent for their business”. She added.

The ’16 Years’ hitmaker was often criticized for what she wore on stage, and in her music videos during the prime of her career.

It is obvious, Mzbel’s advise to budding artistes substantiate Artiste and music producer, Article Wan recent interview with Zylofon FM saying hateful comments from fans sometimes belittle new artistes and affect their effort to also be in the limelight.

However, he explained that, he is personally unbothered about it because he knows he can do anything at any time to make a hit.

He further shared an experience he once had at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2016, where someone who was standing right beside him blatantly condemned him (Article Wan) and bet the artist could not win an award.

Article Wan however did not react to the fan’s comment but rather, acted like a fan of himself since the fan did not know who Article Wan was in person.

He added that, fans who pass distasteful comments about up and coming acts should be liberal towards artistes. Even though artistes expect to be criticized, most artistes get so pained when fans look down on them and trash their efforts.

“Some of the artistes don’t have the heart to withstand intense hateful comments. They may wither within a short period of time.” Article Wan told Zylofon FM.
