Accra to explode with Reggae Concert on Independence Day

Accra, Feb. 17, GNA - Music producers are organising Reggae concerts to mark Ghana's Independence Day celebrations.

Paa K. Holbrook-Smith, a creative show producer, in collaboration with two other music production firms, Lalibela Music Productions and Aduanaba Promotions, would organize the Sizzla Kalonji Reggae Concerts. Mignel Orlando Collins (aka Sizzla), a Jamaican-born musician, has released 45 solo albums and over 15 combination albums, crossing different genres of reggae. Twenty of his albums have also made it onto the Billboards Top Reggae Charts worldwide.

Sizzla is expected in Ghana on March 2 and would launch his new album on Independence Day.

As part of remembrance of the founding fathers of independence, two shows would be held on the March 5 and March 6 at the Accra Sports Stadium and Kumasi Stadium respectively. The concert, according Paa K, would introduce Ghana to high quality Reggae music and performances. Also performing would be Ghana's Cheesy Wailer, Best Reggae Artist 2009. 17 Feb. 10
