AUCC to set up radio station

Accra, Nov. 26, GNA - The African University College of Communications (AUCC), is to establish a radio station for its students as part of its broadcast journalism training programme. Consequently, the school, formally known as African Institute of Journalism and Communications, has invited into the country, Dr. Jack Casey, General Manager of WERS FM of Emerson University in Boston, USA, to offer technical advice.

In an interview with the GNA, Dr. Casey noted that as part of his visit, there would be discussions with the school's Governing Council on how to start an exchange programme between the two universities. He expressed his readiness to assist the AUCC develop and thanked its Governing Council for the initiative taken to give students the best in the field of journalism.

Dr. Casey urged the students to be focused, determined and studious and appealed to Ghanaian journalists to desist from inflammatory statements during this electioneering season.

Dr. Absalom Mutere, Acting Dean of Journalism and Communications of AUCC, said the University was poised to give its students the best in Communication Studies.
