AKADi Magazine attempts to tell authentic stories between the African Diaspora and continent

"AKADi is a new magazine launched to act as a bridge between Africans in the Diaspora and Africans in the Motherland," says publisher Abena Serwaa, a Ghanaian born in the United Kingdom (UK).

The magazine is a platform to inform, inspire and illuminate the stories of everyday Africans doing the extraordinary. Its publishers aim to challenge stereotypes about Africa and Africans.

They, however, believe it can only be done successfully if Africans all over, communicate and share knowledge. It is on this premise that the first issue of AKADi celebrates the connections between Ghana and Brazil through the story of their front cover woman Kai.

Kai is a British-Ghanaian video journalist who traces her heritage back five generations to Brazil. Other exciting stories in the first edition of the publication feature entrepreneur Louise Broni-Mensah who established events platform Shoobs in her 20s during the economic downturn in the UK.
