4x4 Switches Gears; Announces major changes and a new studio album

Ghana’s leading hip life trio 4x4, members of the ONE8 Supergroup and AIRTEL Ghana’s brand partners have announced some major changes in their camp.

The group who enjoyed a phenomenal year with their last album WORLD TRADE CENTER and winning several awards including Video of the Year at the 2010 Vodafone 4site Music Videos Awards have decided not to renew their management contract with Paradise Entertainment after it ended on March 3rd 2011

Commented Captain Planet the group leader “We entered 2011 with a vision and plan to leverage on our successes beyond where we are now and feel that we need to take this journey differently. We have enjoyed our time with Paradise as they have with us and we thank them.” This means all their brand management and performance bookings will be handled differently from now. They are currently revising their operational structures and will announce them accordingly.

Group member Russel Avornyo (formerly known as Abortion) has changed his stage name to CoDED. This is to reflect his new personality, vision and brand. He commented “This name actually represents me in the way I do and approach things, a way that is always loaded with deep meaning, hence the name CoDED. The music, voice and lyrics are the same just what it represents is what has changed”

4x4 are currently finalizing their 5th Studio album entitled “Waist & Power” set to be release in the 2nd quarter of the year under their own label X4 Records. They described the album as conceptually sound and rhythmically exciting with the signature 4x4 groove. Fresh Prince, the silky voiced vocalist said “This album has elements completely different from our previous releases; we put a lot of thought into the subject matter, appeal and rhythm of the songs; it’s a whole new 4x4”

The first single which incidentally is the album title has its video ready to be released in the next few weeks. The group is already busy finalizing tour dates and several activities with their brand partners Airtel ahead of the album’s release.
