4syte should have certain things in check by now

4syte has organized the 4syte music video awards three times in a role with the fourth coming next week.

It is therefore expected that organizers and coordinators would have been experienced with the way they organize the event and with 5 days to the event, should have everything in place and in check.

From our experience at last year's 4syte event and other local events, there are a couple of things we expect to have been in place by now to prevent any embarrassment or uncomfortable situations for celebrities and people in attendance.

1. All accredited media house should have received their press tags by now to prevent last minute delays, rushing and other uncomfortable scenarios for media personnel to cover the event.

2. All nominees, from directors to artists, should have their invites by now to prevent any embarrassing situation at the entrance (from our checks, this is still a hurdle yet to be crossed).

3. Special guests should have their invites by now to prevent any uncomfortable situation (still no show).

4. The security personnel should be given a device to help recognize the faces of celebrities and media men by which ever means to avoid face-offs

Finally, the people in charge of the stage should know what to do and also should be well informed of the time the event will start. This when done, will save us from the embarrassment when audience get seated to watch the fixing of the entire stage and sound checks like it happened last year.

For us, event patrons are tired of hearing the same old statement of "This is Ghana, so what do you expect"; as an excuse for event organizers after they have made the money and given us the bad shows, not to talk of not delivering what we were promised.

Ghanaians deserve much better, and I know we can do more than the Bet, Channel O and MTV base awards so let do it.
