Prolific lyricist and rapper, M.anifest, has disclosed the last time he filed for nominations at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
In a post on X on March 17, 2026, content creator Scanty asked the rapper whether he submitted his song “Wine & Blues,” which features Arathejay, off the “New Road and Guava Trees” album released in March 2025, for “Collaboration of the Year” consideration at the 27th edition of the awards.
“Bro you no file wine & blues for collab of the year?” Scanty asked.
Responding to the question, M.anifest, who has largely stayed away from actively participating in the awards scheme in recent years, disclosed that it has been nearly a decade since he last submitted any of his works for consideration.
I’ve never received a single cedi in royalties from Ghana - M.anifest
“I haven’t filed for anything since 2017. Love to everyone tho,” he replied.
His revelation comes just days after organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards announced nominees for the 27th edition of the scheme on March 14, 2026.
Interestingly, 2017, the last year M.anifest filed for nominations, marked a milestone in his career. At the 18th edition of the Ghana Music Awards, M.anifest was crowned “Best Rapper of the Year” after beating competition from Flowking Stone, E.L, Medikal, Yaa Pono, and Sarkodie.
The event was held at the Accra International Conference Centre in April 2017.
His win came after one of the biggest rap beefs Ghana ever witnessed in 2016, when M.anifest, in his ‘godMC’ track, took digs at Sarkodie following the latter’s release of his ‘Bossy’ song.
