DCE wins NDC Tempane primaries

Mr. David Adakudugu, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Garu-Tempane, at the week won the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries for Tempane Constituency, one of the newly created constituencies in the Upper East Region.

He polled 183 votes to beat his competitor, Mr. Joseph Lama who got 68 votes.

Mr. Adakudugu thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him. He promised to work with opinion leaders, organisations, the people and the District Assembly to facilitate the development of area if voted for as Member of Parliament (MP).

Mr. Adakudugu said: “I will run an open, honest and committed administration given the experience I have gained as DCE”.

He appealed to the electorate to vote for him in December to enable him to bring more progress to the area, and said as DCE he brought development in the areas of promoted education, health, agriculture, water and sanitation, roads, good governance to the people.

Mr. Adakudugu said: “more than 200 teacher tables, chairs and cardboards each has provided 10,000 dual desks have been supplied to schools in the District. We have constructed and rehabilitated 67 schools. About 2000 school uniforms have been distributed. The School Feeding programme has been increased from 5 to 35 schools.

“One CHIP Compound has been constructed and the MP has made available 10 new pick ups to the District Health Directorate. Government has subsidized the cost of fertilizers to about 50 per cent and rehabilitated seven dams. Over 240 boreholes have been drilled in the District”.

Mr. Lama pledged to support Mr. Adakudugu in his bid to win the seat.

Mr. Dominic Azembe, Minister of State at the Presidency, asked NDC supporters to work harder to enable the party to retain power in December 7.

The Minister of State said that he was sure that Ghanaians would vote for the NDC in December 7 because they were already impressed by the unprecedented development projects doted all over Ghana just in three years.
