Chiraahene lobbies NPP to pick BA running mate

The Chiraahene, Barima Afari Mintah II, has appealed to
the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akuffo Addo to pick a running mate from the
Brong-Ahafo Region for the 2012 general elections.

Barima Afari Mintah believes a running mate from the
region would strategically enhance the performance of the NPP while it would at
the same time show appreciation to the people of the region, who have been very
supportive of the NPP since 1992.

Nana Afari Mintah made the appeal when the NPP
flagbearer took his listening tour in the Brong-Ahafo region to the Sunyani
West Constituency.

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd who repeatedly called
for the return of the NPP, the Chiraahene asked Nana Akuffo Addo to put in
place measures to upgrade the Chiraa Health Facility to benefit the status of
the town.
Flanked by other chiefs, queen mothers and opinion
leaders, Nana Afari Mintah also appealed to Nana Akuffo Addo to take a critical
look at the road network from Sunyani to Chiraa which is not in the best of
shape.
Nana Afari Mintah commended the former MP for Sunyani
West, Hon. Kwadwo Adjei Darko and the current MP for the area, Hon. Ignatius
Baffour Awuah, for their immense contributions towards the development of the
constituency and the region.
On his part, Nana Akuffo Addo reiterated his pledge to
make Senior High education free under his presidency.
He noted that for every nation to advance rapidly, it
must invest heavily in education and that is what his government would do when
given the mandate in 2012.

The NPP flagbearer commended the chiefs and people of
the area for supporting the party and urged them to remain loyal to the NPP to
defeat the NDC which has failed to properly manage the economy.
Nana Akuffo Addo made similar stops at Kobedi,
Asuokwaa, Odumase, Bofokrom, Kwatire, Tainso, Addoe and Fiapre, all in the
Sunyani West constituency.

He was accompanied by the MP for the area, Hon.
Ignatius Baffour Awuah, former Local Government minister and immediate past MP
for the area, Hon. Kwadwo Adjei Darko, some regional executives as well as
national campaign officials.
