Popular broadcaster, Kwabena Bobie-Ansah, has criticised what he describes as a lack of cohesion within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), attributing some of the party’s internal caution to the subtle, behind-the-scenes contest over who could lead the party into the 2028 elections.

According to him, although the NDC’s flagbearer race has not officially begun in public, the emerging internal positioning has made some party members reluctant to openly criticise one another or point out wrongdoing.

“I have been in the Ashanti Region for over a year and I know what is going on in the party. If one person is doing something wrong, no one wants to point it out,” he said in a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on October 8, 2026.

Bobie-Ansah cited a recent meeting of NDC communicators in the Ashanti Region, suggesting that the gathering appeared to have had little impact on the party’s internal dynamics.

“There is no cohesion in the NDC. They are not each other’s keepers. The flagbearer race has made them quite careful, and you cannot blame anyone,” he said.

He further argued that the party’s challenges cannot be addressed through communication alone, stressing the need for a broader strategy to strengthen its internal organisation and coordination.
