Charles Asiedu, Member of Parliament for the Tano South Constituency and son of National Chairman of the New Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has explained why his father has consistently emerged victorious in elections he contests.
Speaking on Neat FM on August 20, 2026, the Tano South MP said his father does not enter electoral contests without first carefully assessing the position he intends to contest, his track record in his current position and the strengths he possesses that could enable him to perform effectively in the new role.
According to Charles, Asiedu Nketiah takes time to evaluate the work he has done, his capabilities and whether his experience and strengths align with the demands of the position he is seeking before deciding to contest.
He explained that once his father completes this assessment and becomes convinced that he is ready to contest, he approaches the election with confidence, regardless of the strength or identity of his opponent.
He argued that this careful approach to elections is one of the major reasons Asiedu Nketiah has been able to maintain his winning record in the various contests he has entered.
“The reason Asiedu Nketiah contests elections and does not lose is that he carefully assesses where he is going, the work he has done and his strengths in the position he seeks to contest. Once he has made all these assessments and decides to contest, no matter who his opponent is, he will emerge victorious,” Charles argued.

Charles further stressed that his father is not someone who randomly decides to contest an election.
He said Asiedu Nketiah carefully studies the circumstances surrounding every position before making a decision to put himself forward.
According to him, this deliberate approach means that whenever his father announces his intention to contest a particular position, he is already confident that he has assessed the situation thoroughly and believes he has what it takes to win.
Charles also expressed his belief that Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has the qualities and experience required to serve as President of Ghana.
He said his father’s years of service to the NDC, coupled with the work he has done in various positions and his contribution to the country, give him the experience necessary to lead the country at the highest level.
Charles, however, indicated that such a decision would ultimately depend on whether the time is right, whether God permits it, whether Ghanaians support the idea and whether his father himself is willing to make himself available for such a contest.
“I think my father could make a good President of Ghana because, if you look at the work he has done to support the NDC and the country in general, and if the time is right, God wills it, the people of Ghana support him, and he himself believes the time is right, he would be a perfect President for Ghana,” he noted.
