Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has highlighted his efforts in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures, arguing that his record makes him the right person to lead the party into the future.

Speaking during an engagement with party executives and stakeholders in the Oti Region on August 2, 2026, Boadu said he had invested more in empowering and resourcing NPP structures than any other leader within the party.

According to him, his leadership has focused on ensuring that party officers at various levels receive the necessary support and opportunities to effectively contribute to the party’s growth.

He explained that under his leadership, several constituency and regional executives were given opportunities to serve in key public institutions, describing the move as part of efforts to recognise and reward the commitment of hardworking party members.

“No one has invested more in empowering and resourcing our party structures than I have. Throughout my leadership, I made it a deliberate priority to ensure that our hardworking party officers were not left behind.

“For the first time, many Constituency and Regional Secretaries, Youth Organisers, Women Organisers, and other dedicated party executives were appointed to key public service roles, including the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), NADMO, the School Feeding Programme, and other government institutions,” he stated.

Boadu, who previously served as the NPP’s General Secretary, is currently embarking on a nationwide engagement with party executives and stakeholders as part of his campaign to become the party’s next National Chairman.

The tour, which commenced in the Oti Region, is expected to continue across the northern sector of the country.

A statement issued by the Communication Directorate of his camp on Friday, July 31, 2026, said the exercise forms part of Boadu’s efforts to engage directly with the party’s grassroots ahead of the 2028 general elections.

During the tour, Boadu is expected to meet NPP Regional and Constituency Executives, party wings, members of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON), and media practitioners.

The engagements are aimed at allowing him to congratulate newly elected constituency executives, understand the challenges facing party structures, and share his vision for building a stronger, united, and more effective NPP ahead of the next general election.
