Some aggrieved constituency executives and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency are calling on the party's national leadership to annul the recently held constituency elections, alleging that the process was marred with irregularities and failed to comply with party directives.

According to the group, "the elections should not have taken place because the party's national leadership had earlier directed that the exercise be put on hold."

They claim that directive was ignored, raising questions about the legitimacy of the process.

Addressing a press conference, the aggrieved members further alleged that the names of several polling station executives were deliberately and unlawfully removed from the constituency electoral album, preventing them from participating in the election.

The group also accused the acting Elections Committee Chairman, Ntim and another party member identified only as Solo, of manipulating the electoral process to serve their personal interests while disregarding directives from the party's national leadership.

As a result, they say they do not recognize the newly elected constituency executives, insisting that the election lacked fairness, transparency and credibility.

They are therefore urging the national leadership of the NPP to intervene immediately, investigate the alleged irregularities and deliver a verdict on the disputed election to prevent further divisions that could undermine the party's fortunes in future elections.

The Constituency Chairman, Frederick Brown Glover, appealed to the party's national leadership to act swiftly to restore calm, unity and confidence within the constituency.

A constituency secretary aspirant, Ebenezer Tetteh-Wayre, maintained that the current constituency executives, whose mandate runs from 2022 to 2026, remain the legitimate office holders.

He urged party members to disregard anyone claiming to have assumed leadership through what he described as an illegitimate electoral process.
