The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has urged party members to elect branch executives who are dedicated, capable, and selfless.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) commenced its process to elect branch executives today, Saturday, June 20, 2026. The process is expected to conclude on July 11, 2026.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, June 20, 2026, Armah-Kofi Buah stated that the branch is central to the party’s structure.
“The branch is the bedrock of our party and the foundation upon which our entire organisational architecture stands,” he said.
He charged party members: “Let us choose dedicated, capable, and selfless individuals who will position the party as a formidable force for good and for every battle ahead.”
He also extended best wishes to all aspirants.
“As we commence our internal branch elections today, I extend my very best wishes to every aspirant,” he said.
Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah is a card-bearing member of the NDC who votes at the Aiyinasi Post Office polling station in the Ellembelle Constituency.
However, some NDC members have charged all constituencies to conduct their elections in a peaceful manner.
Meanwhile, Martin Nana Avo Buah, an NDC member at Atuabo in the Ellembelle Constituency, in a statement described the branch elections as an important phase of the NDC’s internal democratic process.
He said the branch remains the foundation of the party’s strength, growth, and electoral success, adding that “it is at the branch level that the ideals of social democracy are nurtured, grassroots mobilization is strengthened, and the party’s connection with the people is sustained.”
He urged all contestants and stakeholders to approach the elections with comradeship, unity, discipline, and mutual respect.
He noted that “while contests may be keenly contested, we must remember that we belong to one family with a common objective: building a stronger NDC capable of advancing the interests of the Ghanaian people.”
Martin Nana Avo Buah commended branch executives for their dedication and service over the years and wished all aspirants and election officers God’s guidance for peaceful, transparent and credible elections.
