Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Maxwell Kofi Nti, a personal aide to the Member of Parliament for Oda, Akwasi Acquah, following a fatal accident during a monitoring exercise connected to the ongoing Polling Station Executive Elections in the Oda Constituency.

In a statement signed by Chairman Wontumi, who is seeking the National Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party, he described the late Maxwell Kofi Nti as a dedicated and committed party member whose untimely death has shocked and saddened the party fraternity.

Chairman Wontumi extended his heartfelt condolences to Akwasi Acquah, the bereaved family, constituency executives, friends, and supporters affected by the tragedy.

He also expressed concern for survivors of the accident, especially the Deputy Constituency Organiser, who is reportedly receiving treatment at the Koforidua Regional Hospital in critical condition.

He called on party faithful, campaign teams, polling station executives, and supporters across the country to exercise caution in their movements and activities during the party’s ongoing internal electoral processes.

“As we continue our internal electoral activities across the country, we must remain mindful of one another’s safety as we work together in service to the party,” the statement emphasised.

The Wontumi Campaign Team also issued a separate condolence message, describing the incident as heartbreaking at a time when party members nationwide are dedicating themselves to strengthening the grassroots of the party.

The campaign conveyed its sympathies to the family of the deceased, Akwasi Acquah, the Oda Constituency executives, and the entire NPP fraternity.

The team further offered prayers for the speedy recovery of all those injured in the accident and called for God’s protection over party members during the election period.

Both Chairman Wontumi and his campaign team prayed for the peaceful repose of Maxwell Kofi Nti and strength for all who are mourning his passing.
