The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK), has rejected a statement announcing that his party has sacked two of its prominent members, Ernest Owusu Bempah and Kevin Taylor.

In a post shared on social media on Sunday, May 10, 2026, JFK indicated that the said statement should be treated as “fake.”

The post included a copy of the said statement with a “FAKE” stamp on it.

The said statement, which was supposedly signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, claimed that the two men were sacked for engaging in gross misconduct and anti-party activities.

It added that Ernest Owusu Bempah, a former Deputy National Communications Officer of the NPP, and Kevin Taylor, a broadcaster, had consistently taken actions that had undermined its leadership.

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) wishes to inform the general public and all party members that, in accordance with the provisions of the NPP Constitution and in line with the principles of discipline, loyalty, and unity, the following individuals have been expelled from the party with immediate effect: 1. Mr Kevin Taylor 2. Rev. Ernest Owusu Bempah.

“These individuals have been found guilty of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, public attacks on the party, undermining its leadership, and engaging in behaviour inconsistent with the values, principles, and integrity of the New Patriotic Party,” part of the statement, which was shared by Radio Tamale, read.

It further stated that the expulsion of the two members was in accordance with the Constitution of the party.

“Their actions have brought the party into disrepute, caused division, and violated the trust placed in them as members and public figures associated with the NPP.

“This decision was taken after due process, consultations with relevant party organs, and in strict accordance with Articles 3(5), 4(2)(b), and 12(1)(a) of the NPP Constitution,” it said.

It added, “The NPP remains committed to discipline, unity, and the collective vision of building a strong, united, and prosperous Ghana.”
