NPP polling agents urged to be vigilant on December 28

Kumasi, Dec 19, GNA - Mr. Charles Oduro Acheampong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist in Kumasi, urged party polling agents to be vigilant during the presidential run-off, scheduled for December 28, to prevent any rigging.

He advised them to be present during the counting of votes since that was crucial in ensuring transparent elections. Mr. Acheampong in an interview with GNA in Kumasi on Friday, said the presidential run-off was crucial to the NPP and polling agents should not allow any person to lure or intimidate them to abandon their duties.

He also appealed to security personnel and electoral officers to prevent electoral malpractices.

Mr. Acheampong alleged that the NDC had intentions of rigging the presidential run-off by applying rough tactics but the NPP leadership was wide awake to check any such situation. He urged NPP supporters who failed to exercise their franchise on December 7 to vote for the party during the presidential run-off.
