Nasara Club suggests Bomba Moctare as NPP running mate

Bolgatanga, June 22, GNA - A club within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) haws appealed to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential aspirant of the party, to consider selecting a running mate who is fully seeped in the Danquah/Busia/Dombo tradition to enable the party to win the December election.

This was contained in a statement issued by the NPP NASSRA Club in the Upper East Region and signed by Mr. Mubarak Muntari, Secretary of the Club at Bolgatanga. The statement said members who were fully endowed with the Danquah/Busia/Dombo tradition are committed to the party and could sacrifice their energy and all they have to champion the cause of the party. It said before the NPP congress, it was agreed by the majority of the members of the party that a person who was endowed with the Dankwa/Busia/Dombo tradition be elected as the presidential candidate of the party.

And it was based on that that Nana Akufo-Addo was elected as the party's flag bearer and urged him to also consider electing a person from the tradition.

The statement suggested that Alhaji Bamba Moctare should be made the running mate and said he stood tall among all the other candidates in terms of the Danquah/Busia/Dombo tradition.

It said Alhaji Moctare had acquired a lot of experiences in the political front and could be a good material when made the running mate. He served as the Chairman for the Danquah/Busia Club in Ashanti Newtown, Kumasi, elected as an assembly man for Wenchi West Constituency, became a Member for Parliament for Wenchi East Constituency from 1966-2004, Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, a member of the Regional and National Campaign team from 1992-200. The statement said when made the running mate he could attract more votes from the Zongo communities and outside.
