Osei Mensah wins Bosomtwi parliamentary primary

Kuntanase (Ash), June 3, GNA - The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwi, Mr. Simon Osei-Mensah, on Tuesday won the primary held at Kokoado near Kuntanase to contest the December election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He polled 56 votes to beat his opponent, Mr. Kwame Abebrese, a Deputy Commissioner of Customs Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS), who had 38 votes.

Mr. Robert Owusu Amankwaah, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, said rivals in politics should not be seen as enemies. He appealed to the delegates and functionaries of the party to bury their differences and unite to beat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December election.

Mr. Abebrese pledged to support him win the seat to ensure the development of the area.

Mr. Osei-Mensah thanked the delegates for re-electing him and promised to work diligently to serve the needs of the people in the constituency.
