RPD endorses Prez Mahama

The National Executive Council for the Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD) has unanimously endorsed ruling National Democratic Congress’ candidate and President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama ahead of the December 7th Presidential polls.

Leader and Founder of RPD Kwabena Agyei (Bambaata) announced the decision in a statement signed on Thursday.

"The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD) has after extensive deliberations, consultations and evaluations, unanimously decided to endorse His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for the 2012 general elections in Ghana," the party proclaimed.

Kwabena Agyei (Bambata) noted “this decision of our party is borne out of sober, objective and reasoned consideration of the state of our political, economic, social and developmental progression as a nation and the absolutely critical need to elect a leader who has the requisite qualities to hold our nation together for development so we can assume our rightful place in the committee of nations of the world”.

“We, after careful assessment and analysis of the playing field and the choices confronting us at this point of history in our dear nation, and in the best interest of our collective future, have come to the conclusion that His Excellency, The President, John Dramani Mahama is best envisioned, positioned, enabled and possesses the character in addition to the youthful energy to take this country on the highway to development and prosperity,” the RPD Founder and Leader stated in the release .

He said the vision of the President, as outlined in his policy statement presented to the nation, on job creation, accountability, governance, health, agric, education and infrastructure development, presents the most realistic, pragmatic and progressive path for our country.

He called on the electorate “to vote massively for him to ensure total victory in the elections and grant him his first four year mandate to execute the job of leading our country to the next higher level of a better and greater Ghana”.
