Nduom says CPP is poised to win Election 2008

Winneba, April 23, GNA - The presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party, (CPP) Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, has said the party was poised to win the December election.

He said CPP members who had joined other parties were returning the CPP "and this shows that the party is not far from winning Election 2008." "Ghanaians should therefore disabuse their minds that it is too early for the CPP to recapture power," Dr Nduom said when he swore in 42 polling station agents of the party in the Effutu Constituency. He commended the Effutu constituency executives of the party for their efforts at mobilizing more people into the party and advised them not to rest on their oars. Dr. Nduom said gone were the days when the party performed abysmally in elections and advised party members to do clean campaign devoid of insults, quarrels, rancour and acrimony and that they should not see their political opponents as enemies. The National Chairman of the CPP, Mr. Ladi Nylander, said the claim by some people that the CPP was full of aged people was not correct and that the youth are now running the affairs of the party.
