Murdered GWC Manager was aspiring NDC parliamentary candidate – Close source

It has emerged from a close source that the official of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) who was murdered on the Walewale-Nalerigu road in the East Mamprusi District of the Northern Region was aspiring to be a parliamentary candidate for the Bunkpurugu Constituency.

Sources within the party disclosed that Mr Joseph Migal Jinjel was a regular visitor to his hometown of Bunkpurugu and had actually played key roles in the mobilization of the youth as President of the Bimoba Youth Association in Accra.

“We were actually tipping him as parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area and he would have won back the seat we lost in 2012 but he died prematurely”, a source disclosed to MyNewsGh.com.

The Deputy Distribution Manager of the Ghana Water Company in charge of Accra East Region was murdered by unknown assailants while travelling to his hometown police earlier confirmed to this portal.

According to the family, Mr Joseph Migal Jinjel together with his wife and others were attacked by alleged armed robbers at Langbinsi or its suburb.

Prior to the attack, the deceased handed a bag of money to them but they shot him thrice and spared the other people with him which makes it difficult for the family to believe the assailants were mere armed robbers.

According to them in an exclusive interaction with MyNewsGh.com, the circumstances surrounding the whole death of the Deputy Distribution Manager of Accra East Region leaves much to be desired saying they may not rule out a possibility of contract killing of their relation.

They are calling on the police to ensure that justice prevails in the death of the man who was murdered in cold blood by suspected criminals who must pay for their actions.
