Appiah Returns From Break

The captain of the Black Stars Stephen “Tornado” Appiah returned to the first team of Juventus this evening after a two match break, in their 2-1 win over Siena in a Coppa Italia match.

Appiah confirmed to GHANAWEB yesterday evening that “the doctors Juventus asked Coach Lippi to rest most of the top players for some few days.”

This move was taken in the wake of defeats suffered at the hands of Galatasaray and Inter Milan. It was aimed at resting the players who started the season in July with matches in the United States. The first team players have seen no rest since then, playing continuously in the Champions League as well as the Serie A.

In the match, the first goal came on the stroke of half time. Appiah picked out Del Piero with a stunning pass. He controlled with his chest to send his shot past Fortin for the opener despite Siena’s claims that he was offside.
