Italian Firm to buy Oyster shells

Big Ada, July 04, GNA -- An Italian firm is to buy oyster shells from oyster miners in the Dangme East District for paint production. Mr Alex Tettey-Enyo, Member of Parliament for Ada Constituency said this during an interaction with members of his constituency at Big Ada. He said the firm would purchase oyster shells from residents of Ada and Shai Osudoku constituencies as most of them were engaged in oyster mining from the Volta River and other lagoons in the district, adding that, the purchase would bring economic value to the people. He further stated that, another firm from the Netherlands would build a tomato processing firm at Asigbey Korpey in the district to create job opportunities for the youth.

Mr Tettey-Enyo noted that, the tomato industry would process tomatoes from the district which otherwise go waste for lack of ready and available market during bumper harvest. 04 July 06
