I always feel heartbroken when people tag me as a kidnapper – Ofosu-Ampofo cries

National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo

The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has revealed that he does not take it lightly anytime people tag him as a kidnapper.

According to the NDC National Executive who is also an Elder or the Pentecost Church, his reputation, ever since the allegation was levelled against him has been dragged in the mud.

Speaking to Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor FM monitored by MyNewsGh. Com, Ofosu Ampofo said he always feels pains inside him when people address him as an ‘elder kidnapper’ even as he has proven his innocence before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

“It always hurts when people tag me as elder kidnapper…Knowing clearly I am innocent and have nothing to do with kidnapping”, he bemoaned.

Samuel Ofosu Ampofo wondered why the Police CID has neither invited him nor apologised to him even as they know clearly that he has nothing to do with the allegations kidnapping as was claimed.

He has therefore backed the decision by former President Mahama in dragging the Bono regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Kwame Baffoe, known in politics as Abronye DC to CID for thorough investigations into allegations of murder .

It would be recalled that a leaked tape which popped up in the aftermath of the Ayawaso by-election shooting captured Mr. Ofosu Ampofo purportedly calling for kidnappings and political assassinations in the country.

“The security and future survival of our country is at stake. So first of all our people have identified a number of them. I don’t know if you have heard but somebody had called me that one of them is dead and gone. Whether heart attack or whatever. You see, three days ago and yesterday those who were living in Nima and Mamobi nobody has slept in his house. So you see that now we have a tactical advantage."

"Nobody has slept in his house. They even went to attack traders [and] some Imams had to come and plead for them. People will also start capturing your mothers and fathers and keeping them hostage until you show yourself up. So we need to go back quickly to the drawing board and strategise“, he is purported to have said in the leaked tape which earned him the name ‘elder kidnapper’.
