Pergeri Cosmos, a sales manager with a multinational organization, has officially declared his intention to contest the Bono Regional Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party.
Pergeri, who is known among party faithful for his grassroots mobilisation and long-standing service to the party, said his decision is driven by a desire to re-energise the NPP in the Bono Region and position it for victory in the 2028 general elections.
“I am stepping forward because I believe the Bono Region needs a chairman who understands both grassroots mobilisation and modern management,” Pergeri said. in a statment on May 10, 2026.
“My experience in the corporate world, combined with years of party service, places me in a strong position to build a more responsive and effective regional structure.”
Pergeri’s political journey dates back to the University College of Management Studies, where he served as TESCON President in 2008.
During that election year, he was part of a team deployed to the Volta Region for the second-round runoff to help secure votes in one of the NPP’s most challenging strongholds.
“That experience taught me the importance of discipline, early preparation, and direct engagement with voters,” he recalled.
“It is the same spirit I intend to bring to the Bono Region.”

Since then, Pergeri has remained active in party affairs, supporting both constituency and regional activities while building a career in sales and business management.
He said his corporate experience has strengthened his skills in resource mobilisation, team coordination, and performance-driven leadership — qualities he plans to apply in managing the regional party structure.
Outlining his priorities, Pergeri said his campaign would focus on three key areas: strengthening constituency structures, increasing youth and women participation and building a data-driven mobilisation system ahead of the 2028 elections.
“The party succeeds when its base is strong. We must resource our constituencies, empower our polling station executives, and ensure that young people see a future in the NPP,” he said.
He also stressed the need for transparency and inclusiveness in internal party processes, promising to work closely with stakeholders to promote unity within the region.
Pergeri called on party members in the Bono Region to prioritise unity and results over division.
According to him, the region has played a crucial role in the NPP’s electoral fortunes and must be repositioned as a stronghold ahead of the 2028 elections.
“We cannot afford to enter 2028 fragmented. My leadership will focus on bringing people together, building capacity, and delivering results that make our base proud,” he said.
The NPP is expected to hold its regional executive elections later this year as part of preparations for the 2028 general elections. Pergeri joins a growing list of aspirants seeking to lead the party in the Bono Region.
Party insiders say the contest is likely to centre on who can best mobilise resources, maintain internal cohesion and prepare the region for what is expected to be a highly competitive election cycle.
