Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George Nartey is accusing Osafo Maafo (transition team leader of the President Nana Akufo-Addo) of lacking integrity.
According Hon. Sam George, a consensus was reached that former President John Dramani Mahama will keep his current bungalow as part of his end of service perk.
He added that the agreement was even okayed by Parliament and that informed the letter written by the former Chief of staff, Julius Debrah.
“He (Osafo Maafo) must act with integrity, if they (NPP) have changed their mind they should let us [know] rather than acting without integrity,” he told GhanaWeb.
He added that both former presidents Kufuor and Rawlings had their residencies renovated with resources from the state coffers.
Ex-President John Mahama in December wrote to the transition team of the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government requesting to keep his official residence at Bungalow No. 3, Prestige Link, Cantonments, Accra and its adjoining facilities as his ex-gratia.
Former President Mahama had been occupying the bungalows since his days as vice president.
The transition team of the new administration admits receiving the request from John Mahama, but says no agreement was reached for the former president to keep his official bungalows.
