There have been more emphatic endorsements for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the Eastern Region as he continues his campaign tour.
For about a week, Dr Bawumia has been engaging NPP delegates and members across the region, receiving public endorsements from key groups and influential party stalwarts.
That momentum continued on Sunday November 30, 2025, when he toured four constituencies: Kade, Akwatia, Asene Manso Akroso and Lower West Akim.
In each constituency, Dr Bawumia received a rousing welcome and open endorsements, which speakers described as “the will of the people.”
Constituency chairmen, MPs, former parliamentary candidates and other party influencers declared their support, a development that strengthens his campaign with two months left until the NPP’s January 31 presidential primaries.
In Akwatia, where Dr. Bawumia was warmly received by delegates, the Constituency Chairman, speaking on behalf of the people, assured him of their continuous support.
“Two years ago, we gave you nearly 68%. No one coerced us to vote for you. And now, when we look at your commitment, your message and your hard work, I believe the 68% you had in 2023 will increase to 86% by January 31 to honour you,” the Chairman said.
“So here in Akwatia, we are determined to vote for you massively. Not only that we want you to win and be President, so we are committed to working very hard to ensure that happens.”
The NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the recent Akwatia by-election reiterated the Chairman’s remarks, saying the constituency would repay the strong support Dr. Bawumia gave them during the by-election.
“On this journey you’re embarking on, we know you will be victorious by the grace of God,” he said.
“I am the latest victim in an election, and I know what it takes to go into an election, give your all, and not win. Let me acknowledge the immense support Dr. Bawumia offered us during the recent by-election. He gave us all the support, but we just could not make it. So I urge all of you to continue supporting Dr. Bawumia as we have resolved to do.”
“Other candidates have been here, but we know what you bring on board. We have resolved to support you to lead the party to victory. We pray for God’s favour upon you so that you emerge victorious, with our support contributing to that success.”
Former Akwatia MP Ama Sey also added her voice, declaring Dr. Bawumia the best person to lead the NPP.
“My brothers and sisters, the situation we are in requires that we continue to back Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” she said.
“Ghanaians don’t normally like changes, and when they are used to someone and you change the person, there is always a problem. Ghanaians prefer the one they know, assess him with time, and then accept him. So I am appealing to all of you not to be deceived into making a change. Let us continue to support Dr. Bawumia.”
“Across the country, I have gone around with him, and everywhere people are calling for Dr. Bawumia to be elected as our Flagbearer — and then Ghanaians will also listen to us.”
In Kade, party faithful demonstrated their strong support in their welcome. The Constituency Chairman reaffirmed this support.
“Kade Constituency is always with Bawumia. We were with him yesterday and we will continue to be with him. I am not the one telling my people to vote for Bawumia the constituency is already behind him,” he said.
“The MP is also with Dr. Bawumia, so I know that together, you’ll all vote for him. To all of us here in Kade polling station executives, coordinators, former executives, council of elders and current executives if we really want power, then come January 31, let us vote massively for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.”
In Asene Manso Akroso Constituency, Chairman Kojo Effah led delegates in a repeated chant of “Bawumia, no change! Bawumia, no change!” before expressing confidence in Dr Bawumia’s victory.
“What we want to tell you is that, by the grace of the Almighty God, you will be victorious. God will not let your toil be in vain,” the Chairman said.
“I am solidly behind you. I strongly believe that you will win and lead our party to victory. We are here for you, and after you leave us with your positive message, we will continue to work very hard for you. We will spread the message so that, by the grace of God, you will win and become the President of Ghana.”
