A 14-year-old Primary 5 pupil of St. Anne's Primary School at Damongo, the capital of the Savanna Region, is in the grips of the Damongo Police for threatening to kill his teachers.

The teenager (name withheld), was arrested by the police after a formal complaint was lodged at the police station by the headteacher of the school, Mr Amos Akuro.

An eyewitness told Bole-based Nkilgi FM that the boy had a misunderstanding with some of his peers and they were all disciplined by the headteacher.

The suspect’s mates later informed the headteacher that he had been seen wielding a pistol the next morning amidst threats to kill any teachers who dare make a second attempt of caning him for anything.

Mr Akuro quickly rushed to the Damongo Police Station to lodge a formal complaint.

The police, on arrival, took the young boy from the school to his home where a search was conducted in his room.

The officers found a locally-manufactured pistol that the suspect had brandished in school.
