A business Consulting Advisory firm, Rich Picking Company Ltd, has weighed in on the controversial GHS 1.3 million gold scam case, threatening to drag the licensed US Gold Buying Company, Green Global Resources to court shortly.

The local firm, RPC Consult is accusing the US gold buying company of circumventing them in a partnership deal, when it decided to assist them set up their business in Ghana.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Managing Partner of the Ghanaian firm, RPC Consulting, Ernest Agyenim Boateng said Green Global Resources planned to circumvent the entire system, hence no wonder they’ve been trapped in these troubles they find themselves in.

“We entered into a negotiation with them that after fronting the move for them to settle their business here in the country, whatever dividend that will accrue from it we will be entitled to 10% of it as our share. But they wanted to circumvent the system and rather got in touch with some Nigerian in Boston who deceived them into believing that he’d contacts in Ghana and could assist them buy the Gold at a cheaper rate. This is how come they bypassed us to do that fraudulent business which had landed them in trouble”

The said gold scandal story has dominated headlines this week, after the company[Green Global Resources] held a Press conference on Tuesday accusing the Police hierarchy of corruption in the case, of which the Police Administration has dismissed such claims by the US firm.

Green Global Resources is alleged to have been defrauded an amount of GHS 1.3 million under the pretext of selling 13 gold bars to the company.

The Director of Strategy and Business Development of the firm, James Barbieri told a Press Conference in the capital- Accra that the leader of the fraud syndicate on this operation, one Courage Cobby has been left off the hook by the Police in a move that suggests that he’s being protected by a higher authority in the Police Service.

“It must be stated categorically that, the 13 boxes of gold that was confiscated have still not been returned to Green Global Resources Ltd. and we believe it is in the possession of the Police Service. We are therefore calling on the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; Mr. David Asante Apeatu, Inspector General of Police and Mr. Bright Oduro, Director-General of the CID, to act on the information provided above to act upon to retrieve our money or the bars of gold are given to us.

“Unfortunately the country of Ghana is the real loser here because your security services are apparently corrupt and cheat potential investors and drive this potential investor away by protecting the scammers and these police corrupt officials.”

“If the perpetrators of this scam are not brought to book, it will have an effect on the country’s image which may heighten the fears of potential foreign investors who may be willing to come and invest in Ghana.”

But Rich Picking contended that Green Global Resources also “have some questions to answer because if they were very genuine people, they would come clean.”

Agyenim Boateng added: “We will also want to see our lawyer to get them that they circumvented us and then whatever money they need to pay for our service rendered, they need to pay because the documents and the initial pre-financing of the business and the license we got for them they paid but the actual deal with them as local consultants they’ve not paid us. So we will also take them on”
