The Director of Adinkra Pastries, Barima Osei Mensah, has said rising cost of production has resulted in the reduction of the size of his company’s meat pies.

Mr Mensah, who was speaking in an interview with Moro Awudu on Class FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Thursday, January 26, explained that he had received numerous complaints lately about the reduction in size of Adinkra meat pies.

According to him, the high cost of ingredients and other inputs had resulted in an approximately “15% cut in the size of the product” in order to maintain the high quality of the pastries.

Mr Mensah emphasised: “Adinkra does not sell meat pies that have lasted overnight”. He admonished consumers to quickly call the telephone numbers printed on the paper bags in which the product is packaged to have their concerns addressed if they buy pastries and realise it is not fresh.

Currently, Adinkra Pastries has extended operations to Swedru, Winneba, Koforidua, Asamankese, Kade, Takoradi, and Cape Coast in addition to Accra and Kumasi.

Mr Mensah has aspirations of establishing assorted pastries outlets across the country in the next few years.
