Job segregation at junior grades work against women

Officially all jobs in the government departments are open to both men and women. In practice however there is clear pattern of discrimination especially obvious at the junior staff level which has strangely remained unquestioned despite years of official support for women's empowerment.

In this category are drivers, messengers, night watchmen, security guards, porters and labourers.
