?2b Projects for Kusa Launched

Nana Kwae Pinsang II, Chief of Kusa in the Adansi West District has launched a five year Development Projects Fund estimated at ?2 billion for the people of Kusa.

The projects include road construction, building of schools and bungalows, potable water and bole holes and electrification.

Nana Kwae Pinsang II was with Nana Ofori Kuma I, Akomuhene, Mr. Appiah A.K. Twumasi, Assemblyman for Kusa and Mr. Badu Nkansah, Managing Director of Adansiman Publication, at the launch in Accra yesterday. He said the government should not have the sole responsibility of developing the communities and called on other villages and towns to initiate projects to complement government's efforts.

He urged the people of Kusa to keep to their promises and make immediate payment of ?20 000 charged on each citizen dwelling in Kusa, so that the projects can be commenced earlier.

Citizens living outside the town were asked to pay ?50 000 towards the projects.

Nana Kwae Pinsang II reminded the citizens in the Accra-Tema metropolis of their durbar scheduled for December 26 and said they should help collect the project funds.

A general durbar is also planned for the entire citizenry on Easter Monday, when they will be expected to settle their debt.

He also called on the government, chiefs, churches and other financial entities to come to the aid of Kusa and support its projects.
