Petroleum prices up by about 10%

A gallon of premium petrol has been upped, with immediate effect, to 34,850 cedis from 31,800 cedis, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) announced on Friday. This represents of 9.59 per cent.

A gallon of diesel is also to be sold at 32,000 cedis instead of 28,950 cedis, an increase of 10.54 per cent.

According to a statement the GNA obtained from the "Daily Graphic" Newsroom in Accra, kerosene would sell at 24,500 cedis a gallon from 22,000 cedis, while Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is 80,000 cedis per 14.5 kilogramme-sized cylinders instead of 74,999.95 cedis. Kerosene thus registered a percentage increase of 11.38 cent, while LPG is up by 6.67 per cent.

The price of premix gasoline is now up by five per cent to 21,000 cedis from 20,000 cedis.
