Accra bourse posts impressive performance

Accra, Oct. 15, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange All Share Index on Wednesday went up 94.18 points to push the change in the year to date to 103.35 per cent.

The Index moved to 2,837.35 points from 2,743.17 points. Aluworks Ghana Limited (ALW) sold 1,941,000 shares out of a total of 2,544,700 shares up from 68,500 shares traded on Monday. Market capitalization went up significantly to 10,795.25 billion cedis from 10,557.36 billion cedis.

In the broader market, there were 10 price changes - all positive. SSB Bank gained 1,400 cedis at 15,400 cedis, Unilever Ghana made 500 cedis at 9,800 cedis, Standard Chartered Bank was up by 388 cedis to finish trading at 59,000 with Fan Milk Limited making 188 cedis to end the day at 3,400 cedis.

Ghana Commercial Bank recovered 150 cedis to reach 5,750 cedis; while Guinness Ghana Limited, Mobil Oil Ghana Limited and the Produce Buying Company gained 100 cedis each to finish mid-week trading at 4,600 cedis; 24,300 cedis and 1,300 cedis in that order.

British-American Tobacco Company gained 93 cedis at 2,900 cedis while Home Finance Company made 50 cedis to end at 3,050 cedis.
