GSE Index slips on dull trading

Accra, May 18 GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) slipped in trading on Thursday on the loss of Sam Wood Limited. The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock measure, lost 0.2 points at 4,768.47 points from 4,768.68 points on Wednesday. Change for the year to date remained at -0.1 per cent. Shares traded rose to 108,400 from 15,100 on Wednesday, but investors remained on the sidelines.

On the broader market there were two price changes - one up and one down.

Sam Wood Limited (SWL) lost 25 cedis at 265 cedis while Enterprise Insurance Company gained one cedi at 7,253 cedis. Market capitalisation was lower at 92,398.05 billion cedis from 92,398.57 billion cedis.
