GSE Index inches up

Accra, May 4, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) inched up on Thursday in an active market that saw three price changes.

GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, gained 0.13 points to close at 4,780.79 points from 4,780.66 points.

Change for the year to date now stands at 0.25 per cent. Shares that changed hands shot up from a low of 19,300 to 657,800 shares on account of block sales in HFC Bank shares.

On the broader market there were three positive price changes. Enterprise Insurance Company made one cedi at 7,202 cedis, Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited also went up by one cedi at 8,573 cedis and Ghana Commercial Bank was up by one cedi to close at 6,308 cedis. Market capitalisation was marginally up to 92,429.60 billion cedis from 92,429.24 billion cedis.
