Stock index inches up in quiet trading

Accra, May 4, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) went up slightly in quiet trading on Wednesday. GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, gained 0.25 points at 4,780.66 points from 4,780.41 points.

Change for the year to date went up to 0.24 per cent. Volume of shares traded came down to 19,300 from 38,200. On the broader market there were two gainers, both positive. Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) made two cedis at 6,307 cedis while Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited also gained two cedis at 8,572 cedis. Market capitalisation moved up to 92,429.24 billion cedis from 92,428.59 billion cedis.
