The Ghana Union of Traders Associations (GUTA) is urging all members and the trading public to comply with the directives given by President Akufo-Addo regarding the partial lockdown of the Greater Accra region and Greater Kumasi.

“Every single life is precious and in as much as we want to continue living our normal lives while trading, we should take into consideration the serious health implications if we continue to do things as usual".

“The clarion call, therefore, is to stay home”, it said in a statement.

According to GUTA, it recognises the very contagious nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore understand the decisions taken by the Executive Arm of Government in curbing the continuous spread of the virus in Ghana.

“We should all continue to practice the precautionary measures the health services has put out”, it added.

It commended all health workers putting their lives at stake in saving the situation.

It also believes strongly that God will see the nation through.
