Manufacturing grew by 0.8% in January – GSS

Manufacturing rate for January 2020 was 9.6 per cent, a 0.8 percentage point higher than figures for December 2019 which recorded 8.8%, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), has announced.

In the mining and quarrying subsector, the producer inflation rate decreased by 1.5 percentage points in January 2020 relative to the rate recorded in December 2019 (33.7%).

Regarding utilities, the rate for January 2020 decreased slightly by 0.1 percentage point over the rate recorded in December 2019 12.7%.

The year-on-year inflation from the producer’s perspective for all industry was 13.3% in January 2020. This rate is 0.3 percentage points higher than the rate recorded in December 2019 (13.0%).

The monthly change rate for January 2020 was 0.5%.
