The UBA Foundation, the United Bank for Africa’s CSR arm has launched a UBA Community Service Day as it entrenched the “Each One Teach One” Initiative on Friday, 23rd November 2018.

This initiative gives all UBA staff members across the African continent, an opportunity to give back to the community in their own way by helping the underprivileged and young children acquire skills that may result in revenue generation. The initiative is also in line with the Foundation’s focus on Economic Empowerment, Environment, Education and Special Projects.

Staff of UBA Ghana Business Offices nationwide were deployed into various communities as they joined their peers across Africa in the UBA Group’s initiative to give back to their communities. Some of the activities that took place include reading and donation of books, entrepreneurial and financial inclusion skills, first aid training, photography skills training, makeup skills training, gardening and landscaping skills among others.

The UBA Foundation believes that being socially responsible is essential and recognizes the human capital of the Bank as a valuable tool in building the community. The Foundation also believes that encouraging employees to volunteer for a cause they care about, works greater in enhancing employee fulfilment, increases team building and boosts employee morale.
