234 men; 97 women receive cashew seedlings in Ejura

Two hundred and thirty four men and ninety seven women have received cashew seedlings to begin production in the Ejura sekyeredumasi municipality.

A total 60 thousand of the cashew seedlings were given out to the farmers to cultivate about 1,390 acres of farmlands.

This is part of government's efforts to provide sustainable livelihood for the rural farmers.

Beneficiaries of the project expressed their excitement and thanked the assembly for the timely support.

Municipal chief executive urged the youth in the area to consider the project to improve their standard of living adding the initiative is expected to create 10 thousand jobs.

Mohammed Salisu Bamba advised the farmers to avoid politicisation of the project and focus on the benefits that would transform the assembly.

The second phase of the project would commence next year with support from Agra and European Union.
