Former BOST MD denies accusing Boakye Agyarko of plotting his removal

The former Managing Director of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng has refuted media report suggesting that he had accused former Energy Minister and Board Chairman of BOST of masterminding his dismissal.

He also denied information being circulated on social media that he had jubilated over the removal of his former boss Mr Boakye Agyarko as the Energy Minister.

It would be recalled that Brytfmonline.com reported that Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng who was addressing a congregation of worshippers at a Thanksgiving Service in his honour at Sefwi in the Western Region over the weekend blamed Mr Boakye Agyarko and Board Chairman of BOST Mr Acheampong Kyei of being the cause of his dismissal.

But reacting to the story, the former BOST MD described the information as false.

He explained that he did not personally passed such comments, but indicated that it might have come from some of his aggrieved supporters who were carrying placards with inscriptions pointing to that direction and following him.

According to him, during his first homecoming that began from last Friday through to Sunday, he himself never mentioned the names of his two former bosses during his interaction with the crowd and Nananom but the thousands of people who came from the community to give him a rousing welcome were also angry about the numerous attacks on him during his 18 months in office and would not be surprised if any of them passed such comments.



In a statement, Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng said he even told Brytfmonline.com that he never questioned the President appointment's criteria, but rather expressed concern on the low inclusion of people from Sefwi and Western Region as a whole in the government blamed it partly to the fact that most of his people do not involve themselves in active politics.

Making a comparison between Volta Region and Western Region, Mr Alfred Obeng, said because people in Volta Region do active politics, they have more people in government even though they do not vote massively for NPP like those in the Western Region do.



On the same point, he encouraged his people from the community and the Western region at large to do more active politics "because in Ghana when it comes to development as well as employment it would take people in government to push for it."

He assured that he would not do anything to undermine the Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in any way.
