We fully support NLA boss - Concerned Lotto Marketers

The Concerned Lotto Marketers and Retailers Association of the Northern Region said they would fully support the Director-General of National Lottery Authority (NLA), Kofi Osei-Ameyaw to work effectively.

The comment comes after a press conference held by the Northern Regional Vice Chairman, Nana Kofi Asabre demanding the removal of Kofi Osei-Ameyaw as the Director-General of NLA.

In a statement issued signed by its convener, Abubakari Seidu, members of the group distanced themselves from the press conference, describing it as baseless.

"We are by this statement completely dissociating ourselves from that reckless press conference held by Nana Kofi Asabre against the NLA Boss", the statement emphasized.

The statement, however stated "Nana Kofi Asabre press conference against the NLA Boss was born out of Malice, selfishness and ignorance of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722)".

The statement also revealed that Mr. Ameyaw has performed creditably well by expanding the lottery business to include the banker-to-Banker Lotto Operators, Agents and Writers.

The statement added that this move is laudable and would generate more revenue for the government and also increase employment opportunities for Ghanaians.

"We strongly believe that Kofi Osei-Ameyaw has performed creditably well by expanding the Lottery Business to include the Banker-to-Banker Lotto Operators, Agents and Writers. This laudable initiative will generate more revenue for the Government, increase employment opportunities and, also ensure discipline and uniformity in the Lottery Industry", the statement explained.

The statement also urged the general public, President Akufo-Addo and the media to disregard the press conference held by Nana Kofi Asabre and the statement also described the press conference as 'bogus unilateral'.

Northern Lotto Marketers and Retailers Apologised to NLA Boss Kofi Osei-Ameyaw

The leadership of Concerned Northern Lotto Marketers and Retailers Association would like to use this opportunity to sincerely apologies to Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, the Director-General of the Natonal Lottery Authority over an unfortunate statement issued by Nana Kofi Asabre, the Northern Regional Vice Chairman of the Lotto Marketing companies and Retailers Association in Tamale.

Nana Kofi Asabre, the Northern Regional Vice Chairman unilaterally organized a bogus press conference demanding the sacking of Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw as the Director-General of NLA.

We are by this statement completely dissociating ourselves from that reckless press conference held by Nana Kofi Asabre against the NLA Boss.

Nana Kofi Asabre press conference against the NLA Boss was born out of Malice, selfishness and ignorance of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722).

We the concerned Northern Lotto Marketers and Retailers Association fully support Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, the NLA Boss over his transformational agenda for the Lottery Industry in Ghana.

We strongly believe that Kofi Osei-Ameyaw has performed creditably well by expanding the Lottery Business to include the Banker-to-Banker Lotto Operators, Agents and Writers.

This laudable initiative will generate more revenue for the Government, increase employment opportunities and, also ensure discipline and uniformity in the Lottery Industry.

We are urging the general public, President Akufo-Addo and the media to disregard the bogus unilateral press conference organized by Nana Kofi Asabre, the Northern Regional Vice Chairman of the Lotto Marketing Companies and Retailers Association.

The Lottery Industry is too big to accommodate the Private Lotto Operators and Agents as well.
