Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) has launched its 2nd edition of the Chamber Business Awards 2017 which seeks to acknowledge and celebrate key businesses and personalities who have contributed meaningfully to business practice in Ghana.

The 2nd Chamber Business Awards which is on the theme “Empowering the private sector to move Ghana Beyond Aid” is in support of government’s agenda to grow the country’s economy beyond “hand-outs” and highlight the critical role of the private sector.

Speaking at the launch of the programme, the President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I said it is in line with government’s vision that the chamber chose the Ghana Beyond Aid theme for this second edition.

According to him, it is their mission as a chamber to promote and protect trade and investment which are critical in driving the country’s development agenda within an atmosphere of cooperation and partnership.

This he said is the reason for organising the awards to celebrate the very best and finest of Ghanaian businesses that have demonstrated excellence in business leadership and innovation in contributing to the socio-economic development of Ghana.
