More jobs to be created if inflation drops

Wassa Akropong (W/R), Aug. 28, GNA - The Minister of Information, Nana Akomea has said that if the current inflation rate fell below 15 percent, more jobs could be created for the unemployed youth. Speaking to journalists at Wassa Akropong on Friday, the Minister said job creation was very paramount for the country and government would not relent in its efforts in this direction.

Nana Akomea said the success of any country's micro economic policy would determine the rate at which jobs were created. He said "there is the need for the creation of a sound environment for the development of private businesses and the nurturing of small scale ones into big enterprises."

The Minister appealed to the youth to take their education seriously and acquire all the knowledge that they could get to make them useful and gain them employment.

Nana Akomea stressed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) believed in multi-party democracy and would do everything to promote it as this would boost the confidence of businessmen and women to establish more jobs.

He appealed to the youth to use their strength and brains for profitable ventures instead of engaging in acts that could ruin their future.
