The Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), Ghana Insurance Brokers Association (GIBA), National Insurance Commission (NIC) and Insurance Awareness Coordinators Group of Ghana (IACG) has hinted of plans to organise a week-long sensitization programme aimed at educating the general public on the importance of risk management in life.

The programme which is in collaboration with Programme for Sustainable Economic Development (PSED) of German Development Cooperation (GIZ) will take place nationwide from Monday, February 19 to Saturday, February 24.

At a media briefing Friday Afternoon, Chairman of IACG, Wilson Tei said the programme will be a live radio interaction which will run concurrently on twenty-one radio stations throughout the country.

This he says will enable the general public to learn more about how best to manage unforeseen life perils in their lives.

“Consumers will have the rare opportunity to interact with risk-management experts thus across human life focused, general business focused, micro-business focused underwriters as well as fund managers and investors” he added.

According to Mr. Tei, the uniqueness of this sensitization programme will afford “consumers the opportunity to speak directly to the experts through phone-in approach.”

“All that a listener needs to do is to phone-in and ask questions that remain critical or unclear in the area of risk management or insurance and the experts will respond accordingly” he stressed.
