Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark woos investors

Ghana’s ambassador to Denmark H.E Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa has called on the investor community in Denmark and Nordic countries to prioritize Ghana when looking for the next investment destination in Africa.

Speaking at the first Ghana business and networking forum organized by the Ghanaian embassy in Denmark on September 28, she touted Ghana’s economy, expanding middle class and stabilized political environment as the key factors to ensure return on their investments in the West African country.

“Ghana’s growing middle class with increasing demand for high quality products, technology and services, areas where Danish companies have ample competencies certainly presents a good opportunity to enter the Ghanaian market to do business for the mutual benefit of our two countries “, Mrs. Awua-Asamoa said while addressing top business leaders at the forum.

According to her Ghana’s economy is on the rise, with the country’s growth levels expected to stabilize around 7 and 8 percent in the years ahead.
Convincing the group of about 20 investors about Ghana government’s readiness to facilitate and promote investments, she stated that a good number of policies and programs such as the planting for food and jobs and the one district one factory concept have been outlined awaiting investments.

“To all of you potential investors, I strongly urge you to be emboldened to take giant steps towards the realization of your business goals in our great Ghanaian market. The prospects are bright in all sectors especially agri-business, infrastructure, renewable energy, information technology and tourism “, she said.

H.E Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa further stated that Ghana’s embassy was ready to offer the fullest cooperation to help interested businesses to set up their operations smoothly in Ghana.

State Visit by H.M. the Queen

The Ghana business and networking forum is in preparation towards the upcoming State visit by Denmark’s Head of State, Her Majesty the Queen to Ghana from November 23-24, at the invitation of H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

H.M. the Queen will be accompanied by a Danish business delegation within three focus sectors: food & agriculture, sustainability and maritime, infrastructure & railways.

According to Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark H.E Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa, on October 11, Danish industry will hold a briefing session for all Danish businesses travelling to Ghana.

The State Visit aims to mark the gradual transition of relations between Ghana and Denmark from aid to trade.
