The Deputy Minister of Transport, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has assured importers and exporters that the paperless directive expected to be implemented at the ports by 1st September will go a long way to reduce the clearance of goods at the ports.

The Deputy Minister said this when he paid a working visit to the Golden Jubilee Terminal where he interacted with importers, exporters and freight forwarders on some challenges confronting them.

He was in the company of the Director of Tema Port, Edward Osei, General Manager Operations, Tema Port, Abraham Mensah and other management staff of the port authority.

Titus Glover noted that the joint inspection at the ports which will see regulatory agencies conducting one inspection on cargoes will improve service delivery.

Inadequate customs officials at the Golden Jubilee Terminal was also identified as a major cause of the delays.
