Djembe Communications, the pioneering pan-African communications consultancy, today announced the significant strengthening of its offering in West Africa as the firm acquires The One Event (TOE), a leading Ghanaian public relations and events management agency.

Today marks the official launch of the expanded Djembe Communications office in Labone, Accra, Ghana.

Speaking at the official launch, Kevin Nolan, International Director, Djembe Communications, commented: “As the communications partner of choice for Africa, it was a logical step for Djembe to acquire The One Event. Their strong book of business and natural corporate culture fit will give us an even more robust springboard across the continent. We look forward to providing our current and future clients with an even stronger offering.”

Djembe’s Managing Director, Mitchell Prather, and former Managing Director of TOE, Paschorina Tedjame-Mortty (now integrated into Djembe Communications as Country Manager for the UK), will also be supporting Djembe Ghana’s Country Manager, Toyin Dania at the new office opening.

Combining Djembe’s award winning international corporate communications and financial PR capabilities with TOE’s consumer healthcare PR and event expertise presents a strong offering to existing and potential clients in Ghana and the West African region. The expanded Ghanaian teamlooks forward to supporting new and existing clients with Djembe’s Country Manager, Toyin Dania, to deliver successful and impactful communications programs for clients with a particular commitment to both Anglophone and Francophone West Africa.

Dania noted, “Djembe Communications is open for your business in Accra and we will continue to service our existing clients such as Vlisco, Philips, Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation, Mizani, Borderless Alliance and Infinix amongst others. We will consult across the whole spectrum of communications encompassing consumer marketing, digital, events management, reputation management and stakeholder engagement as well as branding and design.”

In addition to a presence in Accra, Djembe is present in Angola, Mozambique, Morocco, Nigeria, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States through a wholly owned and integrated network of offices.
